The Services Selection Board (SSB) interview carries 900 marks, the same as the written exam, so it decides the final rank as much as the paper does. It runs over several days (reported as 4 to 5 days) in two stages.
| Stage | What happens |
|---|---|
| Stage I | Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests and the Picture Perception and Description Test (PPDT). Only screened-in candidates move on. |
| Stage II | Psychology tests, Group Testing Officer (GTO) outdoor tasks, personal interview and the final conference. |
You are assessed by three officers: the Interviewing Officer, the Group Testing Officer and the Psychologist. There is no separate scored running test, but the GTO tasks are physical, so good fitness helps. We prepare you for both.
