CAPF stands for Central Armed Police Forces. Every year the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) holds the CAPF Assistant Commandant (Group A) exam to recruit officers into BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP and SSB. It is open to graduates.
The latest cycle (2026) announced 349 vacancies. Applications ran from 20 February to 12 March 2026 and the written exam was held on 19 July 2026. The application fee was ₹200, with exemption for women and SC/ST candidates.

CAPF का अर्थ है केंद्रीय सशस्त्र पुलिस बल। हर साल संघ लोक सेवा आयोग (UPSC) CAPF असिस्टेंट कमांडेंट (ग्रुप A) परीक्षा आयोजित करता है, जिससे BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP और SSB में अधिकारियों की भर्ती होती है। यह स्नातकों के लिए खुली है।

The PET is a qualifying stage: only candidates who clear it move on, and many written-exam qualifiers are dropped here. That is why we run physical training alongside the classroom batch.

Distant vision of 6/6 in the better eye and 6/12 in the worse eye (or 6/9 in both), within the refractive-error limits in the notification. LASIK is accepted if done at least 6 months earlier. Flat feet, knock knees, ear, nose, throat and dental conditions, chronic skin disease and similar defects are checked.
